Safety Tips
ServiceHub is built on trust. These guidelines help both clients and contractors have safe, successful experiences every time.
Hire with confidence
Follow these best practices to protect yourself on every job.
Verify contractor credentials
Always hire contractors with a Trust Badge — this means we have verified their identity, trade licenses, and insurance. Check their reviews and completed job count before hiring.
Use platform payments only
Never pay contractors outside of ServiceHub. Our escrow system holds your payment until you confirm the work is complete. Off-platform payments are not protected.
Communicate through the platform
Keep all communication in the ServiceHub messaging system. This creates a record of agreements, scope changes, and timelines that protects both you and the contractor.
Review the bid carefully
Read each bid thoroughly before accepting. Confirm that scope, pricing, materials, and timeline match your expectations. Ask questions before accepting if anything is unclear.
Do not rush
Take time to compare bids and contractor profiles. Hiring the right contractor matters more than hiring the fastest one. Bids remain open until you are ready to decide.
Inspect work before releasing payment
Walk through the completed job before confirming completion. If something is not right, request corrections before releasing funds. Our support team is available if you need help.
Work safely and professionally
Protect your business and reputation with these practices.
Use secure platform payments
Always receive payment through ServiceHub. If a client asks to pay outside the platform, decline and report it. Platform payments protect you from non-payment disputes.
Document your work
Take before and after photos of every job. Upload them to the job record on ServiceHub. Good documentation resolves disputes quickly and builds trust with clients.
Communicate scope changes
If the scope of work changes during a job, update the bid or create a new agreement through the platform. Verbal agreements are difficult to enforce — keep everything written.
Maintain proper insurance
Ensure your liability insurance and workers compensation (if applicable) is current. This protects you and your clients. Upload updated certificates to your profile regularly.
Report unsafe conditions
If you arrive at a job site and conditions are unsafe or the scope does not match the job posting, contact the client and our support team before starting work.
Keep a professional boundary
All contact with clients should remain professional and within the platform. Do not share personal contact information until after a job is underway and only as needed for the work.
Reporting Issues
If you encounter unsafe behavior, fraud, harassment, or any violation of our community guidelines, please report it immediately. We take every report seriously and investigate promptly.
